iDocket.com Presents to the Conference of Urban Counties

Company Provides Information on a Common Link Internet Portal for Texas Counties

Austin, TX April 14, 2000 - iDocket.com presented information on its multi-county, Internet accessible database of trial court case information to the IT Directors of the Texas Conference of Urban Counties (CUC), 33 of the most populous counties in the state. The CUC is interested in utilizing Internet Technology to effectively meet the need of constituents. iDocket.com has set the standard for using Internet Technology to store and display trial court case information, making access easy for the legal community. The Information Technology Directors of the CUC are interested in exploring the use of a commercial "portal" and related Internet technologies to more easily and cost effectively provide government information and services to county citizens. Specifically, the group is seeking opportunities to leverage a collective investment in Internet applications by looking for common application "front ends" or technologies that could be developed one time but placed in production in multiple locations, rather than being developed 33 times for 33 locations. The group also believes those who use services in more than one county would benefit from such an approach.

The IT Directors issued several topics for discussion including, savings, integrating back-end systems, paying and recovering costs, advertising, security and contractual obligations. In addition, the group was interested in seeing real-life examples of the technology at work.

Armando Balderrama, CEO of iDocket.com, informed the group that iDocket.com charges the counties nothing to place court case information on the Internet; all costs associated with extracting, storing and displaying the information are borne by iDocket.com. Costs are recovered through subscriptions paid by those who use the advanced court case information research features of iDocket.com. The counties would retain discretion in the type of advertising on the iDocket.com web site and also sign a Professional Services Agreement with iDocket.com. Mr. Balderrama also showed a schematic illustrating the security feature; iDocket.com users have no access into the county's computer system, eliminating any opportunities for hackers. Finally, as the first iDocket.com county, Potter County has enjoyed a reduction in phone and counter inquiries and has received praise from county citizens for joining iDocket.com.
